Positions are crumbling. Impressions drop.<br>So we look at keywords, backlinks, site speed, competition...<br>And sometimes we miss the silent enemy: <strong>dead pages<\/strong>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The ones that just stand there, frozen.<br>Invisible to visitors, but visible to Google.<br>And which, day after day, undermine the quality image of a site.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-qu-est-ce-qu-une-page-morte\"><strong>What is a \"dead page\"?<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A dead page is not necessarily a broken page.<br>It's a page that still lives on the site, but no longer in the minds of visitors. A little method is all you need.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Search Console shows which pages have received no impressions for months.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A full crawl with Screaming Frog shows orphaned pages, those with no internal links, those that respond in error or that aren't even accessible any more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Google Analytics (GA4) points to pages with no visits for six months or more.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>A cross-reference with Ahrefs or SEMrush reveals which pages have no external links or traffic history.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The worksite is often larger than imagined.<br>Even on young sites.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-que-faire-des-pages-mortes\"><strong>What to do with dead pages<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Each page needs to be evaluated coldly.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li><strong>Delete<\/strong> useless content, with no traffic, no backlinks, no historical value.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Redirect<\/strong> those that benefit from a little seniority or SEO signals towards more current or strategic pages.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Merge<\/strong> when several scattered contents talk about the same subject without coherence.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li><strong>Archive privately<\/strong> sensitive or useful content only internally, without exposing it to search engines.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Cleaning up a site doesn't mean impoverishing it.<br>It's about letting it breathe again.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<h3 class=\"wp-block-heading\" id=\"h-ce-qu-on-peut-en-retenir\"><strong>What we can learn from it<\/strong><\/h3>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">A site isn't stronger just because it's bigger.<br>It's stronger because it's clearer.
